DEVELOPING: Arrest Made In Starkville Fatal Shooting

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI-TV) A 16 year old is in custody, charged with the murder of a Starkville man.

Tomas Bradford was arrested Thursday night following a shooting in the Brooksville Gardens neighborhood of Starkville.

The victim, 20 year old Deontay M. Rogers, also of Starkville, was pronounced dead at OCH Regional Medical Center, according to Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt.

Witnesses tell WCBI-TV that an incident in the streets escalated to the shooting. Rogers was shot and transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

The suspect was out on bond for 2016 charges of murder and armed robbery.

The Starkville Police Department is actively investigating the shooting. More charges are expected.

Bradford has had his initial court appearance and his bond was set at $2,000,000.
