Details released from Tuscaloosa arrest of Noxubee County inmate
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WCBI) – More details come to light surrounding the arrest of an escaped inmate in Tuscaloosa.
Kevin G. Rush, 37, was arrested in Tuscaloosa following a police pursuit and crash this morning.
An investigator with the Tuscaloosa Police says he noticed Rush driving a stolen car around 9 am.
After a chase, Rush crashed the vehicle and fled on foot, reportedly holding two victims at knife-point.
Police later arrested Rush in the backyard and charged him with Receiving Stolen Property, Attempting to Elude, Burglary, among a handful of other charges.
His total bond in Alabama was set at $107,000.
According to Noxubee County Sheriff, Terry Grassaree, Rush fled law enforcement custody while out on work detail on Wednesday.
Around the time Rush took off, a grey colored Chrysler 300, was stolen from Earl Nash Elementary School.
He will be returned to Parchman Penitentiary in Jackson.
