LOUISVILLE, Miss (WCBI)- There’s a push by the House GOP to lead an anti-Washington campaign this congressional recess.
That’s according to the Associated Press and the New York Times.
According to the article, House Republicans are delivering an anti-Washington message straight to the people who vote.
The key message: turning the tables and blaming President Obama and his fellow democrats for America’s dissatisfaction with government.
U.S. Representative Alan Nunnelee spoke to Louisville’s
Rotary Club members this afternoon.
He says he’s home first and foremost to listen to what the men and women of his district want, and to hear the issues that are on their mind, not the tension surrounding democrats and republicans in Washington.
“We don’t need to have just one party criticizing the other, we need to offer real solutions that create opportunities for Americans,” said Nunnelee.
We also spoke to residents there who say they want congress to focus on two main issues when they return after their recess: The Affordable Care Act and the Budget.
