Death row inmate ready to die

A Union County judge will decide if a death row inmate can end his appeals and be executed. David Cox, 48, was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2010 murder of his wife Kim.

Cox has filed a series of handwritten letters over the past six months saying he is ready to be executed for her death and wants all appeals stopped and an execution date set. The Mississippi Supreme Court Thursday agreed to let the trial court review Cox’s request and decide if he knows exactly what he is asking for. No date for that court hearing is set.
