Deadly Shooting at Starkville Apartment

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- It was a violent night in Starkville yesterday. There were reports of three different shootings, which resulted in the death of one individual. That deadly shooting took place at Brookville Garden Apartments.

Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt has confirmed, that 20 year old Deontay Rogers, was the victim in that shooting. Rogers died at the Oktibbeha County regional Hospital. Starkville Police Chief Frank Nichols, says one person has been taken into custody in connection with Rogers’ death.

Hunt also confirmed that a drive-by shooting happened in the county. The third shooting is still under investigation.
