Day Crowned NEMCC Most Beautiful
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) — Hannah Day of Tishomingo was crowned Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Most Beautiful at the annual Parade of Beauties held inside the Seth Pounds Auditorium on the Booneville campus, Tuesday, November 11.
Day was crowned by 2013-14 Most Beautiful Lara Lynn Waddell of Booneville and given flowers by Northeast president Dr. Johnny L. Allen, Ed.D.
Pageant contestants are judged on beauty, poise and elegance.
Before Day was crowned, the 33-contestant field was narrowed to a Top 10 before the Top 5 was announced.
Included in the Top 5 were Kayla Smith of Iuka, Jorda Waters of Baldwyn, Day, Maggie Martin of Baldwyn and Haley Wilbanks of Walnut.
Other winners on the night included Jorda Waters of Baldwyn, Most Photogenic, and Courtney Walden of Booneville, Lexy Lindsey of Red Bay, Ala., Gwin Moore of Hickory Flat and Lexie Gamble of Booneville all were recognized as Scholastic Award winners. The Scholastic Award goes to the contestant with a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale with at least 28 hours or the next highest grade point average.
Northeast assistant director of bands Jason Beghtol served as emcee for the night.
Northeast Student Government Association president Hunter Thompson of Booneville was also on hand to assist with the pageant.
