Daughter On Trial For Mother’s Death
PRENTISS, Miss. (WCBI) – The trial against a woman accused of killing her mother begins in Prentiss County.
46 year old Rebecca Lynn Jones is charged with murder in the death of her mother, Jane Jones back in May 2010.
The 66 year old died after suffering gunshot wounds to her abdomen and arm.
During today’s first day of testimony, the first responding sheriff’s deputy and a sheriff investigator took the stand to describe the scene the night Jones was killed. A general surgeon and forensic pathologist also testified about the condition and manner of death.
Nine men and five women are hearing the case. No word on how long the trial is expected to last.
