Crosstown closed after a pedestrian was hit by a train

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- A train versus pedestrian wreck has happened in Tupelo near Crosstown.

The identity of the victim isn’t known at this time.

The crosstown intersection will be closed until at least 4 p.m., possibly longer.

The following areas are closed: Crosstown, Green Street, Church Street, Blair Street, and Street Spring.

The Tupelo Police Department is on scene and directing traffic.

The Burlington Northern Railroad investigators are gathering information.
