Crawford Man Accused of Kidnapping

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-A Crawford man is back in jail this time on Kidnapping and Burglary charges.

26 year-old James Dooley is no stranger to the law having been arrested last June and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, possession of a half a pound of marijuana and possession of powder cocaine.

Authorities say Dooley allegedly kidnapped a girl he was having a relationship with and held her against her will for several days.

During that time he also allegedly broke into a local bar in Crawford and stole several electronics and different types of alcohol.

Deputies say they have recovered the stolen items and that the girl escaped Dooley’s residence.
