UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The sentencing phase of a Pontotoc County man, who pleaded guilty to murdering his estranged wife, will continue Saturday (9/22) morning.
The defense for 41 year old David Neal Cox rested late Friday afternoon.
Cox pleaded guilty in August to the May 2010 shooting death of Kim Kirk Cox, at her sisters home in Sherman.
Cox also pleaded guilty to a host of other charges from that hostage situation– including sexual assault and kidnapping.
The jury will decide if Cox should be executed or spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Court will reconvene at 9 Saturday morning.
