COVID-19 cases rise above 3,500 as of Monday, June 26th

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – The number of new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi remains above 1,000.

The state department of health is reporting 3,608 new cases between Friday and Sunday. That’s an average of about 13,000 cases per day. Six deaths were also reported during the same time period.

The state has reported more than 336,000 cases of the virus and more than 15,000 deaths.

Health officials continue to stress the importance of getting vaccinated to help fight the spread.
