COVID-19 cases rise above 1,500 on Wednesday in Mississippi
JACKSON, MISS. (WCBI) – Mississippi has one of its highest COVID-19 case counts since the pandemic began.
Today, the state department of health is reporting 1,593 new cases and 20 deaths.
868 people are in hospitals across the state with confirmed or suspected coronavirus symptoms.
201 of those patients are in I.C.U. beds.
These are numbers that have not been seen in the state since August.
In our viewing area, Lee County has the most new cases with 88.
Lafayette has 34, Prentiss has 24, Monroe has 23, Lowndes has 22, and Winston County has 18.
