Couple organizes tour around the world to educate on finances and faith

LOWNDES COUNTY,Miss. (WCBI)- Coming together for the greater good.

A Columbus couple has worked together to travel the world educating people on finances and their ministry.

Over the next month, Donell and Yolonda Smith have organized a mini-tour around the world.

Donell Smith wrote a book entitled ” The Common Man’s Financial Guide” which covers financial growth and prosperity. His wife, Yolonda, has written and recorded a CD titled “Breakloose”.

The couple says the idea of the tour is to break loose from financial bondage, spiritual bondage, and mental bondage.

“Putting away money that will eventually take over and start working for you. The sooner you start, the better because that money has a long time to work,” said Donell Smith.

The Smiths say since the tour started back in August, they’ve gotten to help and educate people all over the world.

“For me, to go to the place and to get ready to walk out and talk to God’s people and just see how God takes over and everything He said for me to do he paves the way and makes that happen,” said Yolonda Smith.

“They’ve just been so appreciative, and when you see the appreciation they give you and they say you’ve changed not only my life, you’ve changed my children lives and my grandchildren lives. That’s what we really want to be able to impact God’s people in that way,” said Donell Smith.

So far, the Smiths have traveled to Trinidad and Flyzabad in Spain, funding both of their trips by themselves.

The Smiths say it’s not an easy transition into adulthood, that’s why they want to share the importance of finances.

“Don’t despise a small beginning and if you’re going in a direction and you don’t even realize why you’re there. But I’ll tell you, in the long run you’ll see what it’s all about and you’ll see that it was a great stepping stone for you to get to the next place that God has for you,” said Yolonda Smith.

The Smiths next tour stop will be in Palmetto, Florida and then the Island of Barbados.
