ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — An Aberdeen couple writes their own small chapter in city’s 175-year history.
David Low and his new bride, Alicia Low, were married Friday morning on the steps of City Hall. Low said he’s always liked the building’s classic architecture and thought the steps would be a fitting spot for them to get married.
Aberdeen is celebrating its 175th birthday this year. In those 175 years, city records show only three weddings have been held on the steps of City Hall. The last one was almost 100 years ago.
“I just fell in love just like with the city here and it’s been a part of me and I thought it would be a great backdrop for city hall, which is the city that got me here, bring able to be married at this historical building meant a lot to me,” said David Low, who moved to Aberdeen six years ago.
Low is Aberdeen’s building inspector. Alicia is an Aberdeen native.
