Couple Accused in Child Abuse Death Identified

GRENADA, Miss. (WCBI) — Grenada police have identified the people accused on the abuse death of a 3-year-old child.

Cortinia Bounds, who police say is the mother of the dead child, and her boyfriend, Marqueze Collins, are being held without bond in the case.

The case started when the already dead child was brought to the emergency room on Christmas Eve.

Police say there were obvious signs of abuse, including burns and bruises on the child’s body.

That’s when Bounds and Collins were taken into custody.

Police say two other children in the home were also abuse victims.
