Corinth Seeking Infrastructure Grants

CORINTH, Miss. (AP) – The city of Corinth is applying for grants for two separate sidewalk projects, one including lighting.

The Daily Corinthian reports (http://bit.ly/1c6AbBQ ) that the money will come from the Transportation Alternatives Program.

The city plans to add upscale lighting and sidewalks along Meigg Street. The total cost is $800,920, with the city contributing a match of $246,712.

The other project will extend the hiking and biking route from South Harper by providing sidewalks on Droke Road and Clark Street and through the park. The cost is $389,305 with the city contributing a match of $129,336.

The grant program targets alternatives such as on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, recreational trails and safe-routes-to-school projects.
