Corinth Murder Victims Identified
CORINTH, Miss. (AP) – Two men are dead in a fatal weekend shooting at an apartment complex in Corinth.
Corinth Police Chief Ralph Dance says at a news conference Monday that the victims have been identified as 25-year-old Ahmarius Swinney and 22-year-old DeWayne Herman, both of Corinth.
Dance says the shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nashway Apartments.
He says there were more than 75 gun shots, and more than 300 people were fleeing a scene he described as “chaos.” Dance says a number of guns were recovered by investigators.
The bodies of Swinney and Herman were discovered by investigators about an hour apart. Both men were pronounced dead at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Dance says investigators believe the shootings stemmed from fights earlier in the day in some south Corinth neighborhoods.
