Contested Starkville Mayor’s Race Now in Court

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The contested mayoral race for the city of Starkville moved to the courtroom Monday.

Candidate, Johnny Moore, who lost to current Mayor Lynn Spruill by 7 votes in 2017, is saying some of the affidavit ballots thrown out during the election should be counted.

The entire day consisted of examination and cross examination of poll managers from the wards where the contested ballots were cast.

No decision has been made yet.

Court resumes Tuesday at 8:30 AM.
