Lowndes County Commuter Killed In Early Morning Crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A New Hope man on his way to work is killed in an early morning crash in northern Lowndes County.

The vehicle Ricky Lane, 54, was driving hit a truck loaded with logs on Highway 45 North around 6am and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says both vehicles were northbound, near Cal-Kolola Road.

Lane worked at Tronox in Hamilton.

The driver of the log truck was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
