Columbus School District Hosts GoOpen Summit
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Teachers, librarians, and other school leaders are exploring opportunities to teach without traditional textbooks.
The Columbus School District hosted the “GoOpen Summit” at the Trotter Convention Center Thursday.
The U.S. Department of Education initiative encourages the use of openly licensed educational resources in school districts.
A representative from the Department of Education’s Office of Educational Technology spoke to the crowd.
Participants are also attended sessions led by top companies, including Amazon.
Teachers and administrators from school districts in Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee attended the summit.
