Columbus Police Officer Suspended
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Sources say, a Columbus police officer is suspended, weeks after he was pulled over in Starkville.

The officer in question, Sgt. Louis Alexander.
Reports indicate Alexander was stopped by a Starkville officer on March 9. SPD has not release why Alexander was stopped, but did say he was not arrested and there are no pending charges.
A Columbus city spokesman confirmed the traffic stop is under investigation and the city council met today to discuss the incident.
WCBI asked if a city employee was sent to get Alexander in a city vehicle while on the clock.
The city says that information is a personnel matter, at the moment.
WCBI has submitted a freedom of information request to view the Starkville officer’s body camera footage.
