Columbus Police Officer Appealing Suspension
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus police officer suspended last week is appealing. Rebecca Lomax was suspended for 23 days after she was involved in a third traffic accident in three years, in her patrol car. Lomax, who has been punished for wrecking on ice covered Highway 82 and running a stop light and hitting a car, claims she’s not responsible for the damage in the latest accident. The civil service commission has yet to set a hearing date for her appeal.
