Columbus Police Investigate Shady Street Shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police are investigating if two weekend shootings in the city are connected.

In both cases, arguments led to the victims being shot by someone they knew.

The first one happened Friday night in the 1000 block of Shady Street.

Chief Fred Shelton says the argument happened in the road.

Then the victim fled on foot, collapsed several houses down from where the shooting happened, and was taken to the hospital.

Shelton says the victim isn’t cooperating with the investigation.
