COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police officers are making sure Friendly City children get new toys for Christmas.
Donors have given thousands of dollars to the department’s annual toy drive that will benefit four hundred families in Columbus.
Wednesday morning, the AT&T store donated $500 to the drive.
Organizers say they still need businesses and individuals to give.
Officer Rhonda Sanders says, “Right now, we’ve raised a little bit over $9,000. It usually takes us about $15,000 to pull this off, so we have a little ways to go.”>
All toys will be distributed to registered families December 22nd at community centers in Columbus.
