VIDEO- Columbus Murder Suspect Surrenders

COLUMBUS (WCBI) – The man accused in a deadly Columbus shooting turns himself into police this morning.

27 Darrion Walls went to the Columbus police department with his family.

He started feeling ill and medical crews were called to take him to the hospital.

An officer was in the ambulance, while escorted responders to the hospital.

Investigators believe Walls shot and killed Deanthony Jones at Sandfield One Stop this past Tuesday night.

CPD says Jones was shot multiple times.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Jones died of a gunshot wound.

Detectives aren’t saying what sparked the shooting.
