Columbus Man Sells Stolen Rig With Mail To Undercover Deputy

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An 18-wheeler stolen in Knoxville, Tennessee ends up in the hands of a Columbus man.

A Lowndes County deputy helps in the recovery, only to find a trailer full of mail.

Raymond Moore, 39, is charged with possession of stolen property.

Investigators say they got a tip Moore was trying to sell the stolen big rig.

A deputy posed as a buyer and Moore brought the truck to him.

U.S. mail was found in the trailer of the truck.

Now, the U.S. Postal Inspector and FBI are involved in the case.

Moore is also facing charges in Pennsylvania in what appears to be an unrelated case.
