Columbus man indicted for First Degree Murder

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man was indicted on a First Degree Murder charge.

Joshua Murry will now go to trial for the Murder charge and Conspiracy.

He’s accused of killing Jarrel Ward, 24.

Ward’s body was found on Sand Road in Lowndes County in July, after he was reported missing by his family.

Once Murry was arrested, Lowndes County investigators said he started making an escape plan with his girlfriend.

Murry was on parole when he was arrested and will not be eligible for bond.
