Columbus High School Gears Up For Football Season
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Football season is upon us.
To help kick the season off on the right note, the Columbus-Falcon Booster Club held its first ever “Falcon Festival On The River” pep rally.
Fans had a chance to do a meet and greet with this years football team and coaches.
The Columbus High School cheerleaders and drumline were among a few of the performers at the pep rally.
Fans said they like this city-wide pep rally because it helps bring the entire community together.
“It’s important to come out just to pep the boys up for their upcoming season,” said Tenika Weatherspoon, president of the Columbus-Falcon Booster Club. “Sometimes the children do better once they know they have someone supporting them one hundred percent, so I think it’ll encourage them to have a great season and that’s what we want them to do, pump them up to have a great season.”
Columbus high school will officially kick off its first football game on August 19th when they travel to face Kemper County.
