Columbus Fire Damages Home

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A fire that started outside a Columbus house caused damage this afternoon. It began in the owners’ shrubs and climbed up the wall to the roof at the corner of 9th Street North and 7th Avenue North.

Two residents were inside but everyone got out safely.

Firefighters put out the fire quickly. They estimated it caused a few thousand dollars in damage, but said it could have been worse.
