COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus doctor accused of running a pill mill out of his office is found not guilty on all charges.
Prosecutors said Doctor Michael White prescribed addictive weight loss pills to patients who didn’t need them.
The trial lasted 2 days.
The jury deliberated for 2 and a half hours, before clearing White of any wrongdoing on Tuesday (10-23).
The charges came after federal and state agents raided his Columbus office in June 2011.
He faced up to 30 years in prison and million dollars in fines.
Doctor White plans to reapply for his DEA and medical licenses and get his practice up and running again.
