Clay County Escapee Caught
CLAY COUNTY, Miss. – A Clay County inmate who was on the run for more eight hours Wednesday is back behind bars.
Deputies captured 20-year-old Marquis Boyd around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff Eddie Scott tells WCBI Boyd managed to break a lock and escape from the Clay County Detention Center through a wall space Wednesday morning around 7:30.
With help from U.S. Marshalls, MBN agents, and West Point Police, deputies found Boyd at a home in the eastern part of the county.
Boyd was being held on three counts of armed robbery.
He is now facing escape charges.
