Clay County Escape Indictment

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Depriest Gray is accused of prying open a welded air conditioning vent.

Now, a grand jury indicts him for escape.

Gray escaped from the Clay County jail on October 14, 2015, crawling through an oversized vent.

He was found in Starkville the next morning.

Investigators believe Gray had help escaping and eventually making his way to Oktibbeha County.

At the time of the escape, Gray was serving 25 years on robbery and kidnapping charges in a Starkville investigation.

He also faces home invasion and armed robbery charges in Clay County.
