BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-The Bonneville community is mourning the loss of a teen who died in a car accident Wednesday morning.
Sixteen year old, Brittany Willis was driving along 9th street Wednesday morning when she lost control of her car and was ejected. Brittany was pronounced dead on the scene.
“I didn’t want to believe it. I just felt like my whole world was just it crashed down and it really hurt me. It was awful it tore me apart,” says Cameran Gray.
For the last three years, Cameron Gray developed a close friendship with Brittany. She says her personality was one of her best characteristics.
“Me and Brittany were like sisters. We were really close and I loved her just like she was my family. She was a lovable person. She was caring and she got along with everybody,” says Gray.
At Jumpertown High School Brittany Willis was known as a great classmate as well as a good friend, but she was also known as a dedicated athlete on the court.
“She was very coachable. She was a team player and very respectful. Mr. Michael and I talked about her even saying yes mam and no mam on the ball court,” says Jennifer Davis.
Jennifer Davis was not just her coach, but she was Brittany’s first grade teacher. She says Brittany’s life and death has impacted the entire community.
“We’re just a close knit group here so we’ll all be very saddened for a while and we want to really support her sister Courtney. We’re going to miss her and our prayers are with the family,” says Davis.
The funeral arrangements for Brittany Willis has not yet been set.
