Civil Rights Comic Book Goes Digital
U.S. (WCBI) – The comic book is more than just super heroes in capes. In the 1950’s and 60’s, one comic book inspired civil rights activists.
Now “Martin Luther King and the Montgomery Story” are going digital.
Top Shelf scanned the original 16-page book first published in 1958.
The comic book has influenced current leaders including U.S. Representative John Lewis. He said reading the comic inspired his involvement in the civil rights struggle in Tennessee.
The digital version is sold through Comixology, on Amazon.com for the Kindle, and through Apple’s iBookstore.
