Christmas travel period ends: MHP investigates one fatal accident
MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is only investigating one fatal crash over the Christmas Holiday Travel period.
That fatal accident happened in Covington County on December 23.
Last year, there were seven fatal crashes on state highways during the same travel period.
State troopers wrote more than 2,500 tickets.
78 people were arrested by highway patrolmen for impaired driving.
The travel period ended Monday at midnight.
