Video: Choctaw Power Plant Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Planned

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Quantum Choctaw Power Plant has been up and running for some time now.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Monday (10/22) at the Ackerman site.

The Choctaw facility is the largest and most significant investment of the parent company Quantum Utility Generation of Houston, Texas.

QUG is a company focused on acquisition, development, and operations of power plants to meet the needs of electrical utilities and industrial customers.

The state-of-the art plant employing 24 workers in Choctaw County is a natural gas fired combined-cycle facility with a capacity of producing some 760 mega watts of energy for 350,000 homes. The power is sold to TVA.
