Video: Child Injured In Oktibbeha County Crash Dies

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A child injured in a log truck crash in Oktibbeha County has died.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart says John “JD” Gentry, 11, died at University Medical Center in Jackson just before 3 PM on Monday.
The three vehicle crash happened this past Friday night on Highway 82.
State troopers say a SUV driven by JD’s father, John Dodds Gentry, 46, hit the log truck from behind.
The log truck overturned, then a Ford Mustang collided with the big rig.
The father died at the scene.
A six year-old son of Gentry’s remains in critical condition at UMC.
A nine year-old son was treated and released from a Starkville hospital.
The driver of the log truck had minor injuries. The driver of the car wasn’t injured.
JD Gentry was a student at Starkville Academy.
John Gentry owned Golden Horn Restaurant in Lowndes County.
