Chickasaw Deputy Crashes into A Downed Tree on Natchez Trace Parkway

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Chickasaw County deputy and one occupant was sent to the hospital after the patrol car they were in collided with a downed tree.

Deputy Barry Gladney was transporting a man when his patrol car hit a downed tree on the Natchez Trace around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Gladney was northbound on the Natchez Trace just north of the Highway 8 intersection when the deputy saw the downed tree at the bottom of the hill, but was unable to come to a complete stop before hitting the tree.

Gladney and his occupant were both taken to a Tupelo hospital for treatment. Neither of the two men were seriously injured.
