Chickasaw County Car Crash Leaves One Dead

MHP investigated a motor vehicle crash in Chickasaw County on Hwy 15 Thursday that resulted in a death.  The crash happened around 3:20PM near County Road 254.

A green 1997 Chevrolet pickup was traveling north bound on MS 15 when it left the road and collided with a embankment.

The driver 70 year old Harry Hamond of Prarie MS was transported to the Calhoun County Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is under investigation to determine whether Mr. Hammond died due injuries sustained in the crash or due to natural causes.

The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
