Car spins off highway in Thursday afternoon wreck

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Slick roads may have played a role in a one-car accident in Oktibbeha County that sent the driver to the hospital.

Fire coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said the driver was going west on Highway 82 just before 4 p.m. Thursday when it went off the road near the Hickory Grove Road exit.

He said the SUV spun out of control and landed in a wooded area.

Rescuers had to use chain saws to free the driver.

She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The East Oktibbeha Fire Department and the Highway Patrol responded to the wreck.
