Car Crash Claims Life of Amory Man

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. – (WCBI)A one car crash claims the life of an Amory man.

It happened just before noon Monday, at the corner of Doster and County Barn Rds. in Monroe County.

According to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley, 55-year old Raymond Dick Barksdale III died at the scene after the van he was driving collided into a tree.

Gurley says Barksdale was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
