Car catches fire after colliding with tractor, driver dies at scene

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – We now know the names of the two people involved in a fatal accident Monday morning.

Around 8:40am a car rear-ended a farm tractor in the South bound lane on US 45 Alternate in Monroe County near the Lee County line and Pine Grove Road.

Master Sergeant Criss Turnipseed says the car caught on fire and the driver, Jamal Finnie, 26, of Okolona was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tractor driver Paul Sisk, 64, of Shannon was taken to NMMC with moderate injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
