Car Burglaries, Thefts, Officer Assault
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Two Tupelo teens are accused of stealing from cars.
Lavoris Cayson, 19, and Justin Ware, 18, are charged with auto burglary.
According to police, the duo burglarized and vandalized several vehicles at apartment complexes in the North Gloster street area.
Police say several firearms, electronics and jewelry have been recoveredt. A third juvenile was arrested in the investigation.
More charges and arrests are expected.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old Reegan Blount is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
According to authorities, the officer was trying to get Blount to stop her car, when he was dragged about 20 yards.
Blount was being pursued by Mississippi Highway Patrol, with several police officers assisting, when the incident happened about 1:45 Thursday morning near Wilson Street. The officer did not require medical attention.
A 16- month-old child was also in the vehicle when Blount was arrested. She also was arrested for several other charges including D-U-I second offense and speeding.
And finally, an Okolona man faces grand larceny charges in Tupelo.
Police say an investigation revealed 30-year-old Bradley Buchanan was responsible for stealing batteries from a Tupelo business.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
