Calm before the storm
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Calm and comfortable conditions this weekend. Next week looks unstable and quite stormy. There will be slightly cooler temperatures for the weekend.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Temperatures will be cool tonight, dropping into the low to middle 50s. Cloud coverage will stay fairly heavy, potentially beginning to clear early tomorrow morning.
SATURDAY: Starting off the weekend cloudy, the clouds will be clearer by the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 60s. Dry conditions for our Saturday, which is perfect for SEC football games. All 3 local SEC teams have home games this weekend, with kickoff at 11am. Overnight temperatures will be cold, falling into the middle 30s.
SUNDAY: There is some potential for some morning frost, since temperatures will be so cold. There will be a quick warm up though, back into the upper 60s. The clear sky will begin to fill back in, ahead of the next system pushing in from the West. Due to the cloud coverage, temperatures overnight will be in the upper 40s. A little bit warmer.
NEXT WEEK: Monday will see high temperatures in the lower 70s, with a possible isolated shower. A much stronger system will approach Monday night into early Tuesday, bringing in some storms. There is potential for a strong to severe thunderstorm risk within this system. Over the weekend, models should begin to agree on the actual set up. So stay tuned for more details. Cooler air behind the front will have temperatures towards Thanksgiving to feel a bit cooler.
