Calhoun County Man Sentenced To Life In Prison For Child Sex Crime

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Calhoun County man pleads guilty to a child sex crime and is sentenced to life in prison.

Aaron Patane, 36, waived his right to a grand jury and pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery of a child under the age of 12 on Thursday in a Lafayette County courtroom. Judge Andrew Howorth sentenced him to life in prison.

Patane was arrested December 2, 2014 at his Derma home.

Sheriff Greg Pollan says computers, a cell phone, and other electronic equipment were seized at that time.

Patane was originally charged with four counts of Sexual battery of a child under the age of 12, two counts of touching a child for lustful purposes and two counts of possession of child pornography.
