Calhoun County Jail Drug Arrest

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Pittsboro man is arrested after giving drugs to a Calhoun County inmate.

26 year old Chaz Welch was arrested shortly after a Sheriff Deputy noticed him giving a package to an inmate returning back from work detail. The inmate, Terrance Willis was searched as he entered the Calhoun County jail and was found in possession of marijuana. A search warrant was then issued for the residence of Welch at County Road 300. Deputies found marijuana and a set of scales at the residence.

Welch was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of beer, possession of paraphernalia and introducing contraband into a correctional facility.
