Video: Calhoun County Inmates & Driver Injured In Garbage Truck Crash

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Two Calhoun County inmates and a garbage truck driver are injured in a rollover accident on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Highway 9 in Pontotoc County, near the Pontotoc County Industrial Park.

Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan says two Calhoun County garbage trucks were on the way to the landfill in Pontotoc County.

Two inmates on the garbage detail were riding on the back of a garbage truck when it slowed down.

Pollan says the second truck hit the other from behind.

That’s when the garbage truck rolled over.

All three of the injured were taken to North Mississippi Medical Center.

Their injuries are not considered life threatening.
