Calhoun County Courthouse Almost Ready
CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – After years of construction the Calhoun Courthouse is almost move in ready.
The Justice Court Office, Circuit clerk and the three courtrooms have been completed. The courthouse has already gone through several inspections and is waiting for the USDA to do the final inspection before they’re able to occupy the building.
“After its built and has been in such a beautiful building and all the people here in Calhoun County. I think they’re really going to be proud of it because it’s something that was much needed for so many years and we hated to see the old courthouse go down and it was a lot of tears there and a lot of memories in the old one but we’re anticipating new memories in a new beautiful place,” says purchase clerk Sheryl Fleming.
They’re moving in department by department and hope in the next two weeks to be completely settled in.
