Bullard Wanted In Drive-By Shooting
GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Gulfport police have issued an arrest warrant for former Mississippi State basketball player Marcus Bullard involving a drive-by shooting Wednesday.
Police Lt. Phillip Kincaid says no one was injured in the shooting. Kincaid says four shots were fired at a car whose owner had just pulled into the driveway of his home. The car from which the shots were fired fled the scene.
Kincaid says the warrant is for a charge of drive-by shooting.
The 38-year-old Bullard helped get Mississippi State to the Final Four in 1996 but wasn’t drafted into the NBA.
He pleaded guilty to crack cocaine possession in 1998 and received three years’ probation.
Bullard later played for Venezuela, a U.S. minor league team, but returned to prison after he pleaded guilty in 2004 to drug charges.
