Bryant’s Alabama Senate Reaction

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi Governor Phil Byrant reacts to last night’s special election in Alabama.

After months of political battle and accusations against Roy Moore, The people of Alabama spoke and has elected Doug Jones to fill the U.S. senate seat.

This is will the be first time in 20 years a Democrat will fill that seat.

As for Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, he along with others say they’re not unhappy about the results.

“I can tell you that I think there are some republicans that are relieved, that Roy Moore will not be coming to to the United States Senate, and I happen to be one of them,” says Bryant.

So far Moore has not conceded defeat.

Jones say he’s looking to find common ground to do what’s best for the people of Alabama.
